Notice: This article is no longer relevant, as CREY Games had shut down. Don't even bother clicking the links, it's gone.

Are you brave enough to venture into... The Backrooms?
And are you lucky enough to make it out alive?

The Backrooms

"If you're not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in.

God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you."

This is the original creepy-pasta that serves as the basis for The Backrooms, and it has inspired countless adaptations, be it movie or videogame.

Found footage and mini-series

I first heard about it from an article about a young aspiring movie director going by his stage-name "Kane Pixels", who has a YouTube mini-series about The Backrooms, and has recently been asked to direct a feature length version of it.

Here's the video that started it all:

The CREY adaptation

I was immediately hooked, and I knew I had to create a game about it on CREY. It took me a week and a half to make. The game features a randomly generated maze of corridors, and a creature that constantly stalks you. You can escape from the creature, and there is also a way to win the game, but it's no easy task. Do you feel you're up to the challenge?

The game is heavily inspired by Kane Pixels' adaptation. If you have already seen the entire mini-entire series, you will recognize a lot of things, and it would also explain what exactly happens in the game.

So, if you haven't seen the mini-series yet, I cannot urge you enough to go ahead and check it out:
